Return of the Comeback Part 2

Ok. Thanks for the encouragement. Let’s continue doing this while we can. Har har har.

So as to be a little bit fair lest we be told that we only look at those who are quite close to the center of political power in this beloved Philippines of ours, let us look for the others in the DBM DAP list. It can be a bit taxing for some. But sige na nga. Let’s try. Pasensya na po at puro mga former pa rin ang mga ito.

Another cursory look at the DBM DAP list revealed something interesting as seen in these two links:

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/focus/09/24/14/pnoy-allies-lgus-got-biggest-dap-bayan  and

From Congress to the local governments they went

According to the said news sites, the following officials — all former members of the House of Representatives got so and so amounts from the DAP:

carmen

Former Leyte Rep. and now Baybay City Mayor Carmen Loreto Cari

moreno

Former Misamis Oriental Rep., former Misamis Oriental Governor and now Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno

Former Majority Leader and Iloilo Rep. now Governor Arthur Defensor

Former South Cotabato Rep. and former General Santos City Mayor Darlene Antonino Custodio

salceda

Former Albay Rep. and now Governor Joey Salceda

nanib

Former Pangasinan Rep. and former Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza

Former Deputy Speaker and Zamboanga City Rep. now Mayor Isabelle Climaco.

All of them got differing amounts from the DAP. So much blessings from the brainchild of former Batanes Rep. and DBM Secretary Butch Abad. So much blessings to those allegedly close to the current Malacanang tenant, former Tarlac Rep. and former Senator Noynoy Aquino.

For happiness sake, we’d like to end this part 2 of a photo album with a nice one. So here is a pic of newly-wed legislators of the 16th Congress:

Las Pinas City Rep. Mark Villar and DIWA Party-List Rep. Emmeline Aglipay. From http://davaophilippineboomingcity.blogspot.com/

From gloom to happiness. The work continues. Congress is going on a break from September 27 to October 19, 2014 as the website http://www.congress.gov.ph says.  But the world, the Filipino people and this microdot in the internet universe will still be watching. #

Its hard to come out of a hiatus, so to speak.

But well-meaning and usually as-busy-as-me friends (who isn’t darn busy since Typhoons Yolanda [super], Glenda and Marion) who are trying to make things work in this life and this country just slapped me on the back to put something on this space since it is almost a year since. Whew.

Former Batanes Rep. Butch Abad

So okay. What is up and around? Hmm. In the news for the past two weeks are quite a number  former members of the Lower House. Let me see just some who come to (boggle the) mind.

The DBM DAP list

This is a damning list. Sort of. Damning for the incumbent legislators and sort of for former legislators who are now in local government posts or Cabinet posts. The list is across the internet universe. You can look at the following:

http://www.interaksyon.com/article/95989/dap-list–lawmakers-who-endorsed-projects-for-funding-and-sums-involved-as-culled-from-dbm

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/focus/09/23/14/tiangcos-dap-list-abaya-kiko-are-top-recipients

I prefer those two links to see the list. Part of the complete incomplete list. Of course you can go to http://www.dbm.gov.ph and see the “voluminous documents related to infamous Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP).” The DAP is allegedly the brainy invention of former Batanes Rep. and now Budget Secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad.

Former Cavite Rep. Jun Abaya and former Capiz Rep. Mar Roxas.

Aside from being in the DAP list, former Cavite Rep. and now Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya 20 others are facing possible criminal and administrative cases in connection with the alleged anomalous maintenance contract for the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT 3) as can be seen here: http://www.mb.com.ph/abaya-20-others-face-mrt-3-probe/

Hmm. I think the Ombudsman should go historically deeper into this since the chismax line blusters say that it won’t be fair to pin blame for the railway problems of the country on Sec. Abaya when the DOTC team/s that “handled” the MRT, LRT and PNR stuff are the people of the previous DOTC chief.

To refresh us all, another former House member was that chief. Former Capiz Rep.,  (oops, think American ring announcer Michael Buffer voice over) former trade and industry secretary, former senator, former transportation and communications secretary, now Interior and Local Government Secretary and still…. Presidential-wannabe Manuel “Mar” Roxas II.

The current demolition job on the integrity of the Presidential front runner — the current vice president from Makati — has yet to reflect in the upcoming if not ongoing poll surveys.

Wish I could say lets get ready to rumble.  #
